Abstract

The article discusses the problem of the influence of art on the individual; various interpretations of the concept of "art therapy"; specifies the causes and possibilities of therapeutic effects. Based on the literature review, the author analyzes the change in attitude to emotions in the cultural and historical context. The importance of the influence of emotional phenomena on the mental and somatic sphere is noted. The article proves art-therapeutic technologies transform emotional phenomena and thus correct both organizational and mental processes.

Cognitive psychotherapy pays little attention to a person's childhood memories, focusing on current problems, his inner world, thoughts, desires and fantasies. This is the main difference between this method of treating mental disorders and other popular types of psychotherapy: psychoanalysis and behavioral therapy.

Art therapy carries huge therapeutic prophylactic possibilities because it combines consciousness and the unconscious; spiritual and physical. Both in our soul and in our body are hidden such opportunities are truly limitless. From the combination of material and spiritual, a new human quality appears. Proper management of these new opportunities helps a person to overcome his mental and bodily ailments.
